Civil Wedding

Civil wedding is available to couples who have been married by religion in any countries, but have never been officially legalized. If you have been married by religion and therefore the event only involves official legalization, the procession will be held in English and led by an official from the office of Indonesian Civil Registry.

Important to note that you have to provide a marriage certificate from the Ministry of Religion Affairs of the country where you had the religious marriage, and a letter of no impediment from government representative of our country (Consulate in Bali or Embassy in Jakarta), as a clearance that your government does not have objection to the marriage.

Complete list of required documents include:

  • Copy of passport (both groom and bride).
  • Copy of birth certificate (both groom and bride).
  • Copy of divorce certificate (for those have been officially married before).
  • Copy of passport of two witnesses (we can arrange witnesses upon request).
  • Copy marriage certificate from the Ministry of Religion Affairs of the country of origin.
  • Copy of death certificate of the former spouse (for widows or widowers).
  • 4 pieces of recent photograph size 4cm x 6cm landscape (the groom has to be on the right-hand side).
  • Letter of no impediment from government representative of our country (Consulate in Bali or Embassy in Jakarta).

All required documents have to be forwarded either by mail, fax, or email prior to the wedding.
